One week before the event, the Camaro’s L - 88 self - destructed during a test run. With little time to source a replacement engine, Rosen got a new 427/425 crate motor from Baldwin’s John Mahler. After installation, tuning, and breaking it in, this Camaro was the first car Rosen raced representing these supercar powerhouses. Setting two national records, he launched Baldwin - Motion’s SS 427 Camaro program and brought more traffic to Baldwin Chevrolet and Motion Performance.
