In 1994, Gulf returned to endurance racing at Le Mans. Gulf Executive Martin Allerton decided to bring the iconic blue and orange of Gulf Racing into GT racing in 1995. After meeting 'gentleman driver' Ray Bellm, who convinced McLaren to build a racing variant of the F1 Sports car, Allerton was so impressed that he signed the deal before the designs were complete. Ray Bellm won the BPR Global GT title with Gulf Racing in 1996. This particular car, numbered 24, raced in the 1995 Le Mans 24 hours with drivers Mark Blundell, Ray Bellm, and Maurizio Sandro Sala.
